We decided on a school tour at 12pm as an icebreaker before heading to Thorpe Park (ideally). We're aiming for an 80-100 person minimum to cover costs, with current registrations. To boost attendance, we'll highlight the casual vibe, share more school nostalgia photos, and emphasize this is the only reunion for our class until 2033! We're also seeking help from class presidents, particularly the class of 2004 and 2005, to spread the word to their fellow classmates. See you at the next meeting, May 1st.

2/8/2024Milestone
We have picked a name for the reunion!
Time Flies. Eagles Soar.

2/8/2024Attendees: Mariah Gehle, Jason Montoya, Abbey Corbett, Ashley Childers, Daniel Gruenstern
During our meeting, we discussed plans for the upcoming Flag High reunion. We tentatively decided to include a trivia game and brainstormed action items to move forward. Everyone attending the next meeting is responsible for bringing 5 trivia questions related to Flag High or Flagstaff. Kathy will confirm if we can hold the event at the school and inquire about a tour. Keri will investigate securing a discount on catering from Weatherford. Jason will clarify the process for paying vendors through Cheddar. Daniel will follow up with Kim to confirm the pricing previously quoted. Overall, the meeting was productive and the reunion plans are progressing well!
-
1/3/2024Attendees: Becky Wyatt, Staci Darlington, Mariah Gehle, Jason Montoya
The FHS Reunion Team tackled logistics like finalizing the venue, date, and registration goals (reaching $4,000 by Spring Break and finalizing the budget by June). They debated Fratelli's pizza for the daytime event and discussed incentivizing registration with raffles and limited-room announcements. Five reunion name options were shortlisted, "The Great Eagle Migration" leading the pack. Action items included confirming the venue and date, promoting the event on social media through attendee graphics and draws, and reaching out to classmates via various channels. The next meeting will focus on scheduling a school tour and planning the event agenda.

1/1/2024MILESTONE CELEBRATION
We have surpassed our goal of 40 registrations by the end of 2023! As of today, we hit 50, with $2,500 raised!
-
12/13/2023Attendees: Abbey Corbett, Mariah Gehle, Jason Montoya, Ashley Childers ('04), & Daniel Gruentstern
The PPC (party planning committee) meeting discussed progress on the upcoming reunion, welcoming new members from other classes, and strategies to boost registration. Ashley Childers will recruit from her '04 class, Jason created a Flagstaff attractions list, and there are ideas for motivating registrations like videos and reminiscing content. Concerns about the December 31 deadline were addressed, and a new Facebook chat for planners was created. Venue options like High Country Motor Lodge were discussed, and a Facebook poll will help decide the event name inspired by previous prom themes.

12/08/2023Attendees: Abbey Corbett, Jason Montoya, Ashley Cullen Todd
We had a call with Ashley today about joining Ashley Childers as the 2nd liaison for the 2004 class. She's a graphic designer so she's also wanting to help on that front.
-
11/28/2023Attendees: Abbey Corbett, Jason Montoya, Kathy Mansker
We had a call with Kathy Mansker today, from the 2005 class. She drove around Flagstaff on Facetime showing us the different places we could host the event and volunteer to be a liaison for Flagstaff High School and any location we needed to scope out. So, the 2005 class is an official part of the reunion. She'll be finding out if we can do a school tour and how we could invite faculty to the reunion.
-
11/7/2023Attendees: Abbey Corbett, Jason Montoya, Ashley Childers
We had a call with Ashley, from the 2004 class about joining forces. 2024 will be their actual 20-year anniversary so we want to partner up. Ashley heard and saw what we were doing and wanted to combine forces. She'll be working on finding a cohort from her class to help and getting a Facebook group up and running for the 2004 class communications.
-
11/3/2023Attendees: Abbey Corbett, Jason Montoya, Mariah Gehle, Staci Darlington, and Becky Wyatt
Becky Wyatt, from the class of 2002 joined our meeting. She helped plan the 10 and 20-year reunions for her class. We've invited the 2002 class to join us as an opportunity for them to get together again since their 20-year reunion ended up being much smaller than they had hoped. Becky provided us with a slew of helpful insights about a school tour, mid-day event, evening celebrations, and ideas to make our reunion even better.
Our main goal right now is to get 40 deposits so we have enough funds to move forward with a venue. We are 50% of the way there!
-
10/4/2023Meeting Takeaways
Our main focus is to achieve our deposit goal [40 registrations] by year's end so we can book our venue for next year.
We're working on reaching out directly to everyone who graduated with our class and many who were part of our class for the many years that preceded graduation.
If you have any ways to connect our fellow classmates who are not on social media, please let us know or pass along the link to the reunion.
Throwback Thursday photos have been added to this page in the gallery section below. Expect more weekly memory lane posts in the months to come.
-
9/6/2023Meeting Takeaways
We have 13 Early registrations in total, so far. We're 32% of the way to our deposit goal.
If you've not heard from us to join the reunion, expect to hear from us in the next month. We'll continue reaching out to classmates through whatever contact information we have for everyone.
We've continued to share memories from High school on our Facebook page. If you don't have Facebook or you know fellow classmates not on Facebook, I've added these photos and videos to this page. Scroll down to see them.
If you want to come to the reunion but have roadblocks (financial or otherwise) that are preventing, you, please reach out. We'd like to help you overcome those so you can join us.

8/10/2023Meeting Takeaways
Our registration and deposit systems are ready to go. We're now inviting people to pay their deposit of $50 per adult by December 31st, 2023. Please register for yourself, your spouse, your friend, and if you want to pay it forward for a specific person (or generically). Lastly, if you have friends from other classes, like 2002 or 2004, feel free to invite them as well.
-
8/2/2023Meeting Takeaways
We've decided to pick a different venue. We're considering Weatherford, High Country, Little America, and Snowbowl.
We'll need around $2,500 to pay the deposits. We are budgeting for a total event cost of $8,000. We will invite attendees to begin registering and paying the deposit in August 2023. Expenses we expect to pay include: event space, food, drinks, project/screen, music, school gift, photobooth, decorations, and name tags.
Other classes, like 2002 and 2004 are welcome to join our event. Feel free to invite your friends from those classes.
We need to get all deposits by the end of 2023. We appreciate anyone who registers before then. We're preparing the registration and payment process this week.
-
7/12/2023Meeting Takeaways
We're planning to reserve the Doubletree Hotel for the nighttime event. We'll be working on reserving some blocks of rooms for those who want to stay at the hotel. We set up CheddarUp and are setting up the ticket system so we can begin collecting money. We'd like to invite the 2004 class so we're reaching out to find out our options. We're working through the details for the daytime park event. We'll send out a message when registration is available.
-
6/1/2023Meeting Takeaways
A new leadership committee was formed to plan the reunion so it didn't all fall on only a few people. 2023 was not going to work out, so we postponed the 20-year reunion to 2024. The date is July 20th. We built out a task list and set a monthly meeting so we can work through it and keep things moving forward.
