Outsourcing SEO: Marketing Agencies, Do You Need An SEO Expert To Help Deliver For Your Clients?

jason montoya portraitIf you're part of a marketing agency, and you need a reliable SEO specialist to provide Search Engine Optimization support for your clients, I'm your guy.

I've worked with many agencies transparently or in a white-label capacity (as a seamless member of their agency's team) all across the country. One of my agency projects originated from a New York agency that outsourced to an Atlanta-based agency that then outsourced the project to me.

So, I'm the freelancer that agencies outsource to get stuff done.

And, in your case, that includes search engine optimization.

Ways We Can Work Together

  • Supplement What You're Doing —SEO Strategy & Tactical Outsourcing: Whether you've got a gap that needs temporary filling or you simply want someone else to do the work, I'm here to serve. This could range from running an SEO audit of your client's online platform or rolling out a high-impact title tag improvement project.
  • Amplify What You're Doing — SEO Strategy Coaching: If you're already running SEO projects and campaigns, but want someone to work with your staff to find opportunities for improvement so it's more effective for your clients, we can work at this strategic level. This coaching can also extend to providing training (live and pre-recorded).
  • Build Your Agency an SEO Department: Here, we'd work together to build out an SEO department (systems, processes tools, and people) within your agency. When we're done, you'll be doing amazing search engine traffic attraction work and your team won't need me much or at all.

Two Approaches: Compartmentalized Projects Versus A Complete Strategic Plan

When we do engage, we can approach things in a 1, narrow, and targeted way by focusing on small strategies and projects or we can 2, evaluate the project from the largest perspective and come up with a larger (multi-year plan).

  1. Practically speaking, an iterative SEO engagement would have us identifying high-impact and low-effort projects to immediately execute. For example, we might identify and update ten title tags on key pages to quickly increase traffic. Or it might involve fixing broken links or building out a list of urgent content to create.
  2. On the flip side, more comprehensive search engine optimization planning would involve a multi-week or multi-month discovery process where we map out the entire SEO marketing plan that will evaluate all facets of their content and opportunities. This action plan can then guide the SEO efforts for the subsequent years.

The first choice is best for generating results along the way, demonstrating the value through performance to further justify SEO activities. This is often a great approach for projects with smaller budgets or those that need speedier results.

If cost and time are less of a constraint, and the client ultimately and aggressively wants to make dramatic improvements, the second option is a great fit.  This second approach provides a more complete picture of what's to be done and can also be a great planning exercise for an evolving team of people executing the tasks.

How We Interface & How I Charge For My Outsourced SEO

My clients and I work in batches of 10 hours. These batches can be paced as needed, on a bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.

I cap my client engagements at 3 batches per month, although this will vary based on my current workload. Contact me to find out my hourly rate and capacity.

While working together, we'll need a system for managing the projects and optimization tasks. My preferred system is Airtable but we can explore using the system you're already leveraging (Basecamp, Asana, Monday, etc...).

Alternatively, you can purchase my online SEO training course. These short videos give you the keys to my success and will improve your SEO marketing efforts.

Who Am I? And Why It Makes Sense to Work With Me

jason montoyaMy name is Jason Scott Montoya, and I'm a former marketing agency owner with an SEO and content marketing background and specialization.

The best SEO campaigns are based on strong content libraries digitally published (Joomla, HubSpot, WordPress).

  • If you have that library, but it's not optimized for the search engines, I'll guide you on how to get the gold out of that gold mine.
  • If you don't have a rich library of digital content, or you do and it's not been published, I'll work with you to build your publishing machine in a way that maximizes your search engine visibility and activity.

Since I shut down my marketing company in 2014, I've been an SEO and content marketing consultant working with a variety of agency types solving the problems I've described above. This allows me the experience and perspective to work together in a way that not only solves your client's goals but also helps you grow your business.

Whether you have an urgent need right now or a larger vision on the horizon, we'll work together to knock out these goals and build a sustainable way forward.

If you have an urgent situation, text or call me at 770-265-1933.
