Flourishing As A Freelancer
After I shut down my marketing company in early 2014, I didn't know what I was doing next, but I decided to end my marketing company well, communicate with others as it unfolded. During this transition, the founder of a non-profit organization contracted me to get focused and organized. Freelancing had found me and within a few months, there were over half a dozen projects on my plate earning me an income. With a wife with three kids (now five), earning an income was essential and urgent so I accepted it. By the end of 2014, the projects never stopped flowing my way and I chose to embrace freelancing full-time as my vocational path for the season.
My mission for 2015 was to finish mastering freelancing and by the end of the year, I overcame most of my obstacles, built internal systems to help me succeed and other freelancers were reaching out to me for advice. With enough people asking for guidance, I decided to pursue my long term goals and write a book about freelancing. Subsequently, I also recruited a group of freelancers to meet on a monthly basis to help guide them while they helped me refine and improve the book. By the end of 2016 we had finished our journey together and the book (Path of the Freelancer) was completed.
